Priti Sarkar

Priti Sarkar was born on 17th December 2001 in Udaipur, Tripura. Her family’s financial condition is not good and her father is the sole daily wage earner in the family. Inspite of all odds, Preeti has shown excellent merit and has been a very good student throughout her school career. Preeti has scored 79% in Madhyamik and secured 1st division in Higher Secondary exam. Despite all the challenges, through sheer hard work and perseverance Preeti has successfully got admission in NIT, Agartala to study Electrical Engineering in 2021.

However, 2020-2021 was COVID period and the pandemic was at its peak. Like all other institutions, NIT Agartala also resorted to the online mode of education which meant Preeti had to be equipped with a device to join the online classes from her hometown in Udaipur. However, given her financial situation she was not in a position to invest money to buy any device for her education and she was on the verge of discontinuing her education. At this moment, Shuhrid was notified about Priti’s situation. Shuhrid immediately swung into action and reached out to Priti to understand her immediate needs and how we can support her. Based on our conversation with Priti, we realized that her immediate need was a device for her to join the online classes. Without any further delay, Shuhrid immediately purchased a laptop for Priti and Shuhrid members personally traveled all the way from Agartala to her hometown in Udaipur to handover the laptop to Priti and also assure of any other support she will need to complete her education successfully. Along with the laptop, we also ensured that one of our Shuhrid member who is also a Professor in NIT, Agartala will mentor her and guide her in the journey to become a successful Electrical Engineer from NIT, Agartala. Priti has been continuing her education successfully and is currently in 3rd year of engineering. We, at Shuhrid, wish Priti all the more success and promise to continue to support her in her endeavor to become self dependent individual who will bring happiness to her family in future.
